Scott Kelby's First Annual Worldwide PhotoWalk was held August 23. As the name implies it was
world wide. There was a walk held here in Maine, led by ,
Scott Eccleston , in Portland. There were about 50 photogs in attendance ranging in age from teenagers to well seasoned veterans. Cameras that were carried ranged from the usual Nikon and Canon DSLRs to the many point and shoots marketed by the electronics industry. Even though it had a competition flavor the event was more social. We weren't expected to travel as a group but were welcomed to walk and shoot with somebody. This was a great time to network with other photogs and pick up some tips or even learn others' styles. Two hours was allotted to walk the city and photograph away. When the walk was finished we met up at 3 Dollar Deweys, a small pub in the Old Port.
I had a great time meeting other aficionados of the camera world and had an excuse to walk the streets of Portland to photograph its beauty.

Here is my favorite shot of the day. The Porthole Fountain is still in business even though the pic seems to suggest otherwise.
There are some great prizes being offered and it would be great to win something but having made this great image is reward enough for me.
Can't wait til next Walk.
